Full Moon Party at Koh Pha Ngan Island!

Koh Pha Ngan is a beautiful island that is internationally known for it’s full moon parties on beautiful Haad Rin Beach. People from all over the world get happy off shroom shakes and/or buckets of alcohol and dance their butts off until the break of dawn.

While Scott and I are no longer the expert partiers, we raged until 5am last night. The moonlight didn’t allow for great pictures but here are a few!

Apparently all tourists wear neon shirts that say full moon party on them. I was the only girl that found a 7-11 shirt instead.

Here is a photo of Haad Rin Beach before the madness began. There are many stalls on the beach where you can buy your own bucket of any alcoholic drink you want. It’s byob – build your own bucket – kinda thing.

here is a video of Scott’s attempt at dancing to techno

Overall it was a crazy but great night. The good was seeing people from all over the world come together and have fun. There were fire dancers, lasers projected all over the jungle around us and boat taxi’s that arrived on the beach like it was D-day. The bad was seeing so many dudes pee in the ocean. The beach was like one big toilet and it was so sad to see how polluted it was by 5am.

I am glad that we started our trip off with this once-in-a-lifetime experience (maybe twice, we’ll see!). On to Koh Tao tomorrow!
